Capital Letters and Full Stop

Class 2

🎯 Learning Objectives

📖 Let Us Begin!

Look at this sentence: "ravi lives in delhi." Something is wrong! The names Ravi and Delhi should start with big letters. And the sentence should end with a dot. The correct sentence is: "Ravi lives in Delhi." The big letters are called capital letters and the dot at the end is called a full stop.

When Do We Use Capital Letters?

We use a capital letter in four important places:

RuleExample
1. At the start of every sentenceThe dog is big.
2. For names of peopleRavi, Meena, Sita, Arjun
3. For names of placesDelhi, Mumbai, India
4. For the word "I"I am happy. I go to school.

The Full Stop (.)

A full stop is a small dot (.) that we put at the end of a sentence. It tells the reader that the sentence has ended.
