Reading comprehension means reading a passage and understanding what it says. When we read, we must read slowly and carefully. After reading, we answer questions about the passage. The answers are usually found in the passage itself. Let us read a short story and answer some questions!

How to Read a Passage

Follow these steps when you read a passage:

Step 1: Read the passage once slowly.

Step 2: Read it again and think about what it says.

Step 3: Read each question carefully.

Step 4: Find the answer in the passage.

Step 5: Write the answer in a complete sentence.

Read the Passage

Meena's Morning

Meena wakes up early every morning. She washes her face and brushes her teeth. Then she drinks a glass of milk. After that, she eats roti and vegetables for breakfast. She puts on her school uniform and picks up her blue bag. Her mother gives her a tiffin box with rice and dal. Meena walks to school with her friend Ravi. They reach school at eight o'clock. Meena loves going to school because she enjoys reading and drawing.
