Look at the things around you. You can see a book, a chair, and a bag. You know your teacher and your friends. You live in a house in a city. All these words — book, chair, teacher, house — are naming words. We call them nouns!

What Is a Naming Word?

A naming word is a word that gives a name to a person, place, animal, or thing.

Person: Ravi, Meena, mother, teacher, doctor

Place: school, market, park, Delhi, temple

Animal: cow, dog, parrot, elephant, fish

Thing: book, pencil, roti, ball, mango
