How to Open MS Word

Step 1: Click the Start button.

Step 2: Type "Word" in the search box.

Step 3: Click on Microsoft Word from the results.

Step 4: A new blank document opens — you are ready to type!

Typing and Saving a Document

How to Type and Save

Typing: Click anywhere on the white page and start typing using the keyboard. Press Enter to go to a new line.

Saving: Click File > Save As > choose a folder > type a file name > click Save.

Always save your work regularly so you do not lose it!

Formatting Text

Formatting means changing the appearance of text to make it look better or stand out.

Printing a Document

How to Print

Step 1: Click File in the top menu.

Step 2: Click Print.

Step 3: Choose the printer and number of copies.

Step 4: Click the Print button.

You can also press Ctrl + P to open the print dialog quickly.

Writing "My Favourite Festival"

Step 1: Open MS Word.

Step 2: Type the heading: "My Favourite Festival"

Step 3: Select the heading. Click Bold (Ctrl+B) and increase font size to 16.

Step 4: Press Enter and type your paragraph about Diwali or Eid or any festival you like.

Step 5: Select your paragraph text and change the font colour to dark blue.

Step 6: Save the file as "My Favourite Festival".

Step 7: Print it using File > Print.
